Writing this from my new iTouch. Really nice device as one would expect from Apple.
The only negative I have to say about it so far is that it only supports one running application at a time. To me that is just about unacceptable. For instance if I start an IM application and then switch over to check email, then I get signed out of IM. So it’s worthless as a real OS.
I predict that we will see iTouch’s in larger screen sizes. Especially if they make the OS multitasking, this device would make a fantastic tablet “pc”.

I’m told by an iPhone owner that if you jailbreak it, you’ll get to run multiple apps.

I haven’t spent much time on researching Jailbreak but I can’t seem to find any evidence to suggest that is the case but who knows for sure.
I’m not even 100% sure that Jailbreaking doesn’t run a completely different OS altogether (although seems like maybe it just exposes some of the OS that is locked).
Also, pretty sketchy info out there and not much I can find for the latest firmware. I’d have to downgrade and mess around just to try things out. I just got things setup the way I like them of course.
We’ll see how things develop with later Apple updates and as more proper information comes out about Jailbreaking.
